Behavior that is rewarded is repeated. Just keep that in mind, and figure out how to reward her if her own talent isn't working. Could you do a few scales with her?<br />One of our sons chose saxophone, but never wanted to practice, so we finally gave it up. He hated me when I took him to friends where I do not communicate in Japanese. Just after a few years, he is very different. He seems to be very curious about my friends and network, tries to join a conversation. My dream? is to take him with me to my 25th reunion in 2016 :) - with him growing, I get the sense that I am also growing. By the way, love your new years's card. Wonderful family! It is good for the kids to get in the habit of asking for help as well as learning when to try it themselves, but you also recognized that we as parents are constantly trying to figure out which case to help on and which one to back off. I do feel that he is learning when and why he needs 'the real help'. As he grows, I hope he will be able to judge, when and why he is asking for help. Many nursery teachers told me that a child who sought for help and helped, will be able to help others when they grow up - When my son becomes an adult, I do hope that he will be helping others. Whereas for kids, they are learning all the time. If we ask them to try it themselves before asking for help, how do they know if they did it right or well? Maybe they can ask for help and we can judge at that point whether we think it is something they should make an attempt on first.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-747158635092689993.post-9608183234696456932014-12-08T11:28:27.550+09:002014-12-08T11:28:27.550+09:00Good.
